Partnership Programs: Community Development

Small Community Assistance

Program description: Communities with populations of less than 5,000 often have economic development needs that are unique and differ from those of larger communities. This program takes into account these special needs.

  • Examples of eligible projects include, but are not limited to leadership training, organizational development, retail trade assessments, sponsorship of workshops, specific small business or community development efforts, selected conference registration fees and printed materials such as community brochures or directories.

Conditions:

  • A community using this program must have a population of less than 5,000.
  • Communities do not need an available building or improved site to participate in this program.
  • We encourage communities to leverage our assistance with other state/local programs that offer assistance to smaller communities.

Award: Forty (40) percent of the cost up to a maximum of $2,000.
