Program description: This program will support a broad range of targeted marketing efforts by community, county or regional economic development organizations in our service territory. It is intended to underwrite the costs of specific development marketing plans, not the operational expenses of an economic development organization.

Examples of eligible projects include, but are not limited to:

Direct-mail marketing and telemarketing campaigns

New Web site development or the update or improvement of an existing site

Marketing materials such as brochures, folders, letterheads, postcards, DVDs

Industrial park signage, photos and aerial photos

Marketing trips to out-of-state prospects

Grant writing fees

Print advertising on available industrial buildings or improved industrial sites

Conditions:

Communities must meet the eligibility criteria, with the exception: communities do not need an available industrial building or improved site to participate in this program for Web site development and Grant writing projects.

Buildings and sites must be served by Alliant Energy and have at least 5,000 square feet of usable space or a minimum of 25 acres to be eligible for print advertising assistance. A schedule of the date(s) the ad(s) will run, a complete cost accounting and tear sheet must also be provided.

Communities must involve an Alliant Energy economic and community development manager for follow-up on leads generated by print advertising.

Specific business-related travel expenses must be deemed "reasonable" by our economic development staff.

Funding can only be used for projects that target areas outside of the Alliant Energy service territory.

Award: Forty (40) percent of the cost of an industrial development marketing project up to a maximum of $5,000.
